17th November

The venue this week was at Evretou for an open match. In first place was John Sutton with 181bs 8ozs (including a lovely carp weighing 10lbs 2ozs); in second place was Ray Ayre with 141bs 8ozs and in third place was Jim Schofield with 121bs 2ozs. The pairs were won by John & Jackie with a combined weight of 20lbs 14ozs. 14 members fished and the total weight caught was 781bs 11ozs. John's monster carp took approx 10 minutes to land but he did a fantastic job of landing him having caught him on the pole. He had to add another section (making 5 in total) and his hydro elastic was stretched to at least 30 yards. He also borrowed a larger landing net as the one he had with him wasn't big enough! Species caught this week included a large zander and also a large catfish.

24th November

We were back at Evretou for a league match. In first place was Peter Heritage with 161bs; in second place was Chas Hunt with 151bs 9ozs and in third place was Lance Chubb with 141bs 4ozs. Peter caught some really decent sized roach and a nice big bass. The pairs were won by Chas & Peter with a combined weight of 311bs 9ozs. 16 members fished and the total weight caught was 761bs 7ozs. The fish are not quite so prolific but still very good for Evretou at this time of the year. (Only thee anglers 'blanked' compared to seven this time last year). It started off quite cool first thing but gradually the sun came out and it was a good day. We were graced with a large egret hovering above and the usual quota of goats and sheep took their daily stroll around the dam.

1 st December

The venue this week was at Asprokremnos for an open match. In first place was Steve James with 121bs 4ozs; in second place was Jim Schofield with 121bs and in third place was Chas Hunt with 81bs 15ozs. The pairs were won by Lance & Peter with a combined weight of 171bs. 15 members fished and the total weight caught was 891bs 1oz. Some really nice sized' carp were caught this week but only a few catfish as they are beginning to disappear for the winter. The cormorants were ducking and diving this week and catching plenty of fish - also the heron moved in at the end of the match to pick up what we had thrown back. It's always good to see the goats and sheep taking their daily stroll.

Sth December

We were back at Aspro for a league match. In first place was Chas Hunt with 121bs 4ozs; in second place was Jim Schofield with 111bs 2ozs and in third place was Steve James with 9lbs. The pairs were won by Chas & Danny with a combined weight of 161bs 6ozs. 13 members fished and the total weight caught was 751bs 8ozs.

15th December

The venue this week was at Evretou for an open match. In first place was Jim Schofield with 191bs 10ozs; in second place was Ellen Q'Meara with 151bs and in third place was Rod Howard with 121bs 14ozs. The pairs were won by Lance & Rod with a combined weight of 231bs 8ozs. 14 members fished and the total weight caught was 951bs 04ozs. Some particular1y nice sized bass were caught and also some lovely roach and carp. Evretou is becoming an increasingly 'peggy' dam with 3 anglers blanking. The top weight was 191bs 10ozs compared to the lowest weight of 6ozs.

22nd December

We were back at Evretou for a league match. In first place was Ellen Q'Meara with 20lbs 5ozs; in second place was Chas Hunt with 181bs 7ozs and in third place was Lance Chubb with 10lbs 2ozs. The pairs were won by Ellen & Athos with a combined weight of 241bs 5ozs. 14 members fished and the total weight caught was 811bs 12ozs. At least nobody blanked this week but there was still a big difference in the top weight of 20lbs 5ozs compared to the lowest weight of 11ozs. The match secretary dug out quite a few pegs due to the steepness of the bank (20 feet deep in some places). He also took along a life-buoy just in case anybody fell in!
