OLD SHACK FISHING CLUB JANUARY 2011 RESULTS
On 4 January there was a practice match, which should have taken place at Aspro, but was switched to Mavro after heavy rain. There were lots of small Roach with occasional small Carp on tip. In first place was Chas with a hard worked 71b 8oz. Second was Richard with 41b 12oz and in third place was Ellen with 31b 4oz. Pairs was won by Chas and Athos.
We were finally able to fish Aspro on 11 January, in a club match, which turned out to be warm and sunny after a chilly start. Chas was once again the man for the venue in first place with 91b 14oz. Dave Wilkinson was not far behind in second place with 71b 4oz, one ounce in front of Ray in third place. Steve James was in fourth place with 6lb 2oz. Pairs was won by Chas and Danny.
There was a practice match at Kouris on 18 January. After a gloomy forecast the day turned out to be quite pleasant. Pegs split into two sections. Steve Duckworth won the day with161b 15oz on the tip. Ray Ayre was second with 130b 13oz. Third was Chas with 131b 5oz. The pairs was won by Steve Duckworth and John Davis.
On 25 January it was back to Kouris for a club match which turned out to be a day of incidents! Colin broke his pole and Peter's chair gave way. The fishing was good with everyone catching. In first place was Chas, clear with an outstanding 151b 1oz. In second place was Steve Duckworth with 91b 5oz. In third place was Alan Blaine with 41b 8oz. The pairs was won by Chas and Danny.
