7th July
The venue this week was at Polemidhia for a practice match. In first place was Jim Schofield with 271bs 12zs, in second place was Ray Ayre with 261bs 10zs, and in third place was Jackie Blaine with 151bs 15zs. The pairs were won by Jim & Dave with a combined weight of 361bs 12zs. 12 members fished and the total weight caught was 1531bs 5zs. Polemidhia dam is the training base for the Cyprus Water Skiing team. It is still very green & 'smelly' (caused by the Algae) but this doesn't appear to have put the water skiers off. The dam has dropped dramatically since we last fished there by at least 8 feet. At least the 'authorities' have started to clear the rubbish surrounding the dam which makes it slightly better on the approach.
4th July Back at Polemidhia for a league match. In first place was Ray Ayre with 231bs 10zs., in second place was Jim Schofield with 231bs 6zs and in third place was Derek Reddy with 221bs 14zs. The pairs were won by Ray & Derek with a combined weight of 461bs 8zs. 13 members fished and the total weight caught was 2121bs 15zs.
21st July
The venue this week was at Asprokremnos. In first place was Lance Chubb with 121bs 13zs, in second place was Ray Ayre with 10lbs 1z and in third place was Jackie Blaine with 91bs 11zs. The pairs were won by Lance & Colin with a combined weight of 191bs 14zs. 14 members fished and the total weight caught was 871bs 13zs.
28th July
Back at Asprokremnos for a league match. In first place was Chas Hunt with 16bs, in second place was Lance Chubb with 121bs 1z and in third place was Ray Ayre with 10lbs 6zs. The pairs were won by Chas & Ellen with a combined weight of 241bs 8zs. 14 members fished and the total weight caught was 761bs 14zs. The authorities have started to 'bag' the rubbish left behind by some really disgusting 'fishermen'. Lets hope they will do the same at Evretou which is now really disgraceful. Again, the banks are covered in litter by some rubbish which is being left by some disgusting people who call themselves 'anglers'.
